HSF Trail Status, Tuesday, January 12 - PLEASE READ The Hilton Sno-Flyers Trails will be closing Tuesday Night, January 12 for Major Repairs. Please advise all riders. The Clubs Board of Directors was called together for an emergency trails meeting to discuss the steps necessary to improve the trails. Many factors have been taken into account: Safety, weather forecast for a slight warmup, and resources available are just a few. The Club will be working on a Major Reconstruction project in the Gilmore to Lawton Road area (North of Route 104). All Three of the Clubs groomers will begin work on Wednesday morning to draw snow in from a nearby field to build a snow bridge. Dan Gurbacki, John Miller, Mike Waeghe, and Bob Allen will all be taking time off from their Jobs in order to get this done. Dave Leverenz and a crew will be working to resolve water issues further North Starting Wednesday and continuing into the weekend: Water holes near Lawrence Road are to be filled. A water hole near Wiler Road will be filled to get sled traffic back onto the trail, and off the road. Culvert pipe will be installed in a hedgerow and a snow bridge will be built to cross the running water. As you can see, there will be many people working on these projects and we would appreciate two things. 1) No sled traffic! (There will be a lot of heavy equipment in use) 2) Additional help where and when needed. (Please watch this post for more info) Thank You! |
